THE HOPE OF A VILLAGE BOY

*THE  HOPE OF A VILLAGE BOY*
As a young boy growing up from the Zongo community and also hailing from  a  typical village in the Upper West region called Lambussie, I thought I was left with no hope to make it in the future especially when I meet my other colleagues from the Estates. Whenever I look at most of them, then I throw a challenge to myself that, I have a lot to achieve on this earth.

My perception changed when I got closer to most of them, and listening to their stories they relay to me about their lives, I realised that, we need to achieve more through the hard ways, but first of all, our faith and trust in God should be something we must not take lightly. When I take a close look at the part of the country some of us are coming, I lose hope as to whether or not I can also make an impact in the lives of many before saying farewell. All my thinking came to a standstill when I started focusing on what I want to achieve in future than wasting my time on past glories. As long as I thought and talked about my past, I felt I had no future. God was the providing one, but I would have totally missed it had I not finally understood I had to ' *let go in order to go on*'.

Sometimes when we focus on our past, we can't even see our future. We become discouraged, hopeless and depressed. We all have a quota to give in our nation's growth, despite the fact that, most of our leaders are corrupt, selfish, stingy etc, we still have to give in our best at least for the less privileged in society to also benefit from us.

It's quiet disparage to see the youth of today also engaging in fraudulent and corrupt activities, but we still hope our country would be developed one day.

As a young village boy, I still hope that one day, I shall be part of the change makers and posterity should be my best judge.
