The first school to try a back-to-back win was PRESEC, Legon. They won in the finals of 1995 against Opoku Ware School but lost to Prempeh College in the finals of 1996. PRESEC however finally set a back-to-back record in 2009 when they beat Achimota School in the finals after beating Opoku Ware School in the finals of 2008.
The second school to try a similar feat was Prempeh College. They won in 1996 against PRESEC Legon but suffered defeat to Opoku Ware School in 1997.
The third school to attempt was Mfantsipim School. They won in 1999 against Wesley Girls but suffered defeat to St. Peter's School in the finals of 2000 at a 20-point difference.
